About

Travel by curiosity,
not by checklist.

Wander began with a small frustration: standing on a corner in an unfamiliar city, phone in hand, drowning in reviews and still with nowhere to go. We wanted something quieter — a single, well-judged suggestion, and the confidence to walk towards it.

One stop at a time

No endless lists. Wander offers a single next move, chosen for where you are, the hour and your mood.

02

Places, not rankings

We filter out the chains and the tourist traps, and favour the rooms locals actually keep returning to.

03

Built for the walk

Every suggestion carries honest travel time — on foot, by transit or by car — so nothing is further than it looks.

How it works

A few taps, then a walk.

Tell Wander where you are and what you're in the mood for — a long lunch, a glass of something, a room full of design, an hour of quiet. Wander reads the city around you, weighs opening hours, distance and character, then hands back one place worth the trip.

Like it, and it becomes part of an adventure you can save and revisit. Don't, and the next move is a single tap away.

Who we are

A small studio, a long list of cities.

Wander is made by a small independent team of travellers, designers and engineers. We build the app we wanted on our own trips: no feeds, no ads, no sponsored placements — just judgement, tuned city by city.

We're in more than a hundred cities today, and we add more each month, always the same way: walk them ourselves, then teach Wander what we learned.

About our Founder

Hi, I'm Amy.

I've always believed the best part of traveling isn't checking landmarks off a list.

For me, it's turning down the right street. Finding the tiny café you never planned to visit. Wandering into a neighborhood that ends up becoming your favorite memory of the entire trip.

I've been traveling for more than thirty years, both for work and for fun. I've planned ski adventures across Europe, wandered through markets in India between business meetings, and spent countless weekends exploring cities I'd already visited. Every trip has reinforced one thing I've always believed:

"Every city has another story waiting just around the corner."

But no matter where I traveled, I kept running into the same problem.

I wasn't looking for another itinerary.

I didn't need another "Top 10 Things to Do" list.

I just wanted someone to answer one simple question:

"I have three free hours. Where should I go next?"

One rainy Saturday before a business trip to Milan, I found myself sitting at my kitchen table with what felt like my entire internet browser open.

Seventeen tabs later...

I still didn't know where I wanted to go.

That was the moment Wander was born.

Not because I wanted to start a technology company.

Honestly, I just wanted someone to build this app for me.

When I realized it didn't exist, I decided to see if I could build it myself.

At the time, I had absolutely no background in software engineering. I wasn't a developer, and I definitely wasn't a founder. I had a full-time career, an idea I couldn't stop thinking about, and a stubborn belief that "I don't know how" wasn't a good enough reason to give up.

So I started learning.

Night after night, I taught myself how modern AI development tools could help turn an idea into a real product. I asked thousands of questions, rebuilt features more times than I can count, celebrated small victories, learned from plenty of mistakes, and slowly watched Wander come to life.

Today, Wander is the app I wish I'd had years ago.

I built it for business travelers with a free afternoon, tourists who want to experience more than the obvious sights, and locals who want to fall back in love with their own city.

What's my next move?

My hope is that Wander helps you spend less time researching and more time exploring.

I hope it gives you the confidence to put your phone away, start walking, and discover places you never would have found otherwise.

"Because I still believe the best travel memories aren't the ones you plan months in advance. They're the ones you almost missed."

Thanks for being here.

I can't wait to see where Wander takes you.
